Tehran: Iran's parliament speaker and lawmakers on Tuesday renewed their allegiance to the ideals of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini (RA), during a visit to his mausoleum in southern Tehran. Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, along with members of the parliament, attended the ceremony accompanied by the late Imam's grandson, Hassan Khomeini, laying flowers and reciting prayers.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, participants reaffirmed their loyalty to Imam Khomeini's principles and pledged continued adherence to the country's leadership, while honoring those killed during the 1979 revolution and the Iran-Iraq war. Lawmakers emphasized their commitment to advancing national dignity, independence, and sovereignty in line with the founding ideals of the revolution.

Speaking after the ceremony, Ghalibaf highlighted that Imam Khomeini believed in the people, mobilized them, and placed them at the center of governance. He noted that the model of popular rule established by Imam Khomeini is based on rationality, justice, and spirituality, insisting that these principles must be reflected through effective and accountable governance rather than rhetoric.

Ghalibaf further stated that the Islamic Revolution initiated a profound shift in global power structures, which is now approaching a decisive phase. He warned that miscalculation, hesitation, or poor judgment at this historical juncture could impose heavy costs on the country and future generations, stressing the need for vigilance and responsibility in governance.
