Iranian President Lauds Pakistan’s Efforts for Regional Peace

Islamabad: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian praised Pakistan's tireless efforts to establish peace and security in the region during a meeting with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, stressing the need to strengthen bilateral relations across all fields.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during the talks, President Pezeshkian expressed appreciation for Pakistan's support and its around-the-clock engagement in advancing the ongoing negotiations that led to the war-ending agreement. He said he hoped to witness positive developments and a further strengthening of bilateral ties across all fields. On the occasion, President Pezeshkian invited his Pakistani counterpart to visit Iran.

For his part, President Zardari described the relationship between the two countries as historical, rooted in shared religious and cultural bonds and geographic neighborliness. Addressing Iran's resilience, President Zardari said: 'This great victory is a source of pride for the Islamic world and Muslim nations.'

President Pezeshkian arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday afternoon at the head of a high-level Iranian delegation that included Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, and was officially welcomed by President Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at Nur Khan Airbase.
