Tehran: Iranian female rowers have secured a gold medal in the lightweight double sculls at the Asia Rowing Championships in Vietnam.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the duo of Zeinab Norouzi and Kimia Zarei triumphed against teams from India, Vietnam, Thailand, and Hong Kong in the final, finishing first with a time of 7:30.22.
In addition to this achievement, Iran also made strides in other categories. In the men’s lightweight rowing competition, the team of Amirhossein Mahmoudpour and Amirreza Abdali claimed a bronze medal, finishing third with a time of 6:43.24. Furthermore, the Iranian women’s team in the heavyweight class added another bronze to their tally, with the pair of Mahsa Javer and Fatemeh Mojallal finishing third, trailing behind teams from Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
