London: Iran's ambassador in London has issued a warning to the British government, suggesting that recent events, including the arrest of several Iranian nationals, might be part of a false flag operation intended to damage the diplomatic relationship between the two countries.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ambassador Ali Mousavi brought up these concerns during a meeting with Dan Jarvis, the British Minister of State for Security, at the Home Office. This introductory meeting, which took place on May 19, was later announced by the Iranian Embassy on X, where it was described as a constructive exchange covering various issues, particularly the recent arrests of some Iranian nationals.

During the meeting, the ambassador urged the release of all detained Iranian nationals involved in a Metropolitan Police investigation related to terrorism allegations, which he claimed were false. Mousavi requested that Minister Jarvis inform other British lawmakers of the situation, highlighting the risk of third-party involvement in a potential false flag operation aimed at disrupting bilateral relations between Iran and the UK.

The statement also mentioned that both parties stressed the importance of maintaining dialogue in good faith and agreed to continue meeting in the future to prevent misunderstandings and address any differences.

This meeting occurred amidst heightened tensions following the arrest of seven Iranian nationals on charges of preparing for a terrorist act and collaborating with a foreign intelligence service. Of those arrested, four individuals were subsequently released without charge. These incidents have led to diplomatic actions, with both Britain and Iran summoning each other's diplomats in London and Tehran. Iran has called the allegations against their nationals 'false claims,' further straining the already tense diplomatic relations.
