Tehran: Commercial activity at Iran's Bazargan Customs Office has registered significant growth since March, with exports increasing by 130 percent compared with the same period last year, an Iranian official has said. Mohsen Bagherpour, head of the Bazargan Customs Office, announced the figures during the fifth meeting of the Traffic Council of Maku County in West Azarbaijan Province.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Bagherpour also highlighted that imports and transit activities have increased by 88 percent and 66 percent, respectively, since March. This marks a substantial rise in commercial exchanges at the Bazargan Customs, which is one of three border crossings facilitating trade between Iran and Trkiye.

Bazargan Customs operates around the clock in West Azarbaijan Province, within the Maku Free Zone. It serves as a crucial gateway for Iran, connecting the country to European markets through its strategic location. The increased activity at the customs office underscores its importance in bolstering Iran's trade prospects in the region.
