Tehran: Iranian Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Abbas Saleh Shariati has described journalism as a noble profession that assumes a deeper cultural and social mission during times of crisis, in a message marking National Journalists' Day. Saleh Shariati extended his greetings to journalists, reporters, photographers, cameramen, editors, and all media professionals who dedicate their efforts to public awareness, truth, and service to society.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Saleh Shariati reflected on the past year's major events and challenges faced by Iran, emphasizing the crucial role of the country's media in conveying Iran's perspective to the world amid a conflict involving the United States and the Israeli regime. He highlighted that the conflict entailed not only territorial, residential, and human attacks but also efforts to distort the truth and influence the narrative concerning Iran.

The minister commended Iranian media professionals for their strong performance during this challenging period, acknowledging their responsible reporting, timely coverage, and careful analysis. This approach, he noted, helped gain greater attention for their accounts of the conflict among audiences and observers.

Saleh Shariati lauded journalists, photographers, and cameramen as guardians of truth and collective memory, and paid tribute to media workers who lost their lives while serving the public.
