Isfahan: Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, emphasized that the country's economic progress should not be held back by waiting for sanctions relief, stating that Iran must continue its path of production, trade, and development. He highlighted that diplomacy should aim to achieve both sanctions relief and their neutralization concurrently. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi made these remarks at the conclusion of a brief visit to Isfahan. He affirmed that the Foreign Ministry remains committed to its primary goal of lifting sanctions, even during challenging and tense times. He stressed that the removal of sanctions should be pursued through genuine, equitable negotiations based on mutual respect, rather than through coercion or threats. Araghchi clarified that by advocating the need to adapt to living with sanctions, he was not suggesting their acceptance. Instead, he emphasized that Iran's production, trade, and development efforts should proceed without delay, rather than waiting p assively for sanctions to be lifted. The Foreign Ministry's strategy involves two parallel missions: actively working to eliminate unjust U.S. and Western sanctions, which have significantly impacted Iran's economy, and mitigating their effects by fostering economic collaboration, particularly with regional and neighboring partners. Araghchi pointed out that economic diplomacy has moved into an operational stage, addressing issues related to banking, transportation, and legal barriers while facilitating international partnerships. He also mentioned that provincial diplomacy seeks to directly connect local economic resources with Iran's foreign economic policy. The foreign minister underlined that neutralizing the effects of sanctions requires tackling internal challenges, such as complex regulations that demotivate entrepreneurs. Araghchi concluded by noting that sanctions have compelled Iran to diversify its economy, reduce reliance on oil, increase non-oil exports, and explore alternative trade routes. H e reiterated that the continuous effort to lift sanctions should be accompanied by building a resilient economy that is not dependent on a single source, trade route, or external decisions.
