Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has declared that the movement to avenge the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei will persist, emphasizing that Iran will withstand aggression and pressure by depending on its independence, domestic capabilities, and national dignity. He made these remarks during a meeting at the 40th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi stated that the assassination of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, after his seven decades of struggle, marked the beginning of a new phase of resistance. He asserted that Iran would neither forgive nor forget this act. The foreign minister highlighted that recent conflicts demonstrated the failure of adversaries to undermine Iran's social cohesion and force political change, as the country's political system remained intact, compelling adversaries to negotiate.
Araghchi pointed out that the latest war revealed the limitations of US bases in the region, arguing that these bases could not ensure security and that Washington primarily supported the Israeli regime. He described Iran's targeting of US positions in response to aggression as legitimate self-defense.
The minister also highlighted Iran's reliance on domestic defense capabilities, particularly its missile program, noting that Iranian forces successfully struck US positions despite interception efforts. This response, he said, strengthened Iran's standing among Muslim peoples and garnered appreciation for its supporters.
Araghchi attributed Iran's achievements to the leadership and guidance of its martyred Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei over four decades. He emphasized that the martyred Leader taught self-reliance, resistance, and confidence in diplomacy, underscoring dignity and national interests. Despite facing three wars with major powers, Araghchi noted that Iran preserved its territory.
On the topic of post-war diplomacy, Araghchi asserted that Iran would not accept ceasefire violations and would respond to any attacks. He emphasized that sanctions would not force Iran to surrender its independence or national interests.
Furthermore, Araghchi stated that Iran seeks to strengthen relations with Islamic countries, particularly its neighbors, including Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. He emphasized the importance of mutual respect and cooperation, stating that Iran's approach to the Muslim world is centered on unity and vigilance against divisions.
