Beirut: The official X account of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has published a message following today's courageous act by the people in southern Lebanon. The message commends the bravery displayed by the Lebanese populace amid challenging circumstances.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the office of Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, has announced the extension of the November 2023 ceasefire deal in the Arab country. The decision was reached after consultations with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and President Joseph Aoun, along with contact with the American side. An executive committee has been established to ensure the implementation of the ceasefire deal, which is based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.

As part of the ceasefire agreement, Lebanon has requested that the United States begin negotiations for the release of individuals arrested by the Israeli regime since October 2023. The ceasefire, which was initially set between Lebanon and Israel, took effect on November 27, 2024.

Furthermore, reports indicated that on January 26, the Lebanese people, along with the army, entered southern Lebanon despite obstacles from the occupying regime's military forces. This movement coincided with the expiration of the 60-day deadline for the complete withdrawal of Israeli military forces from Lebanon, as stipulated in the ceasefire agreement.
