Antalya: Iran's national football team has departed for Turkey to hold its final training camp. The Iranian team left for Antalya, Turkey, on Monday morning with 22 players and coaching staff members to play their final friendly match before departing for the United States to participate in the 2026 World Cup.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the head coach of the Iranian football team, Amir Ghalenoei, elaborated on the team's preparation before their departure for Turkey, mentioning that they are adorned with the name Minab 168. This training camp is a crucial part of their preparation as they gear up for the international competition.
Earlier on Sunday, FIFA Secretary-General Mattias Grafstr¶m expressed the organization's anticipation for Iran's participation in the 2026 World Cup. He described the recent meeting between representatives of the Iranian Football Federation and the global governing body as positive and constructive, signaling a favorable outlook for Iran's involvement.
Iran has qualified for the World Cup for the fourth consecutive time. The national team is scheduled to face New Zealand, Belgium, and Egypt next month in the United States, with their training camp planned in Tucson, in the US state of Arizona.
