Accra:Mohammad Eslami, vice president and head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, extended his congratulations to Mehrdad Akhlaghi Ketabchi on his recent appointment as the defense minister. Eslami acknowledged the confidence shown by parliament in Akhlaghi's capabilities.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Eslami's message underlined Akhlaghi's extensive experience in the defense and aerospace sectors, as well as his background in research, engineering, and the development of strategic military infrastructure.

Eslami praised the new defense minister's specialized expertise and managerial foresight, noting his dedication to national self-sufficiency. He stressed the significance of enhancing domestic production capacity to ensure a consistent supply of military equipment, thereby boosting Iran's defense capabilities and deterrence.

Eslami expressed optimism that Akhlaghi's experience would be pivotal in rebuilding production infrastructure, advancing strategic technologies, and developing human resources, ultimately reinforcing Iran's defense foundations, national independence, and strength.
