Iran’s Regional Strategy Emphasizes Cooperation, Not Exclusivity: VP Aref

Tehran: Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref asserted that the nation's regional strategy has consistently prioritized cooperation over exclusivity. Aref made these comments during a visit to key national organizations, including the National Petrochemical Company, the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines, and the Food and Drug Administration.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during his visit, Aref addressed Iran's strategic stance concerning the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing its significance as Iranian property. He highlighted that while Iran has historically underutilized this strategic asset, there is now a dedicated effort to assert control in alignment with international law, strategic imperatives, and economic considerations. Aref noted that this approach aims to secure the waterway, benefiting all nations within the region.

Aref further stated Iran's commitment not only to its own development but also to fostering regional cooperation in the aftermath of the Ramadan war. He expressed Iran's ambition to transform the region into an economic center and declared Iran's readiness to collaborate with southern neighbors to ensure lasting regional security. Highlighting the resilience of the Iranian people, Aref mentioned an upcoming celebration of their victory in the Ramadan war, suggesting that this triumph will lead to the lifting of longstanding sanctions and pressures on Iran.
