Tehran: Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, stated that while Iran does not seek war, it is prepared to deliver a more crushing response to any new act of aggression against the country. In a speech on Thursday at a ceremony honoring the victims of the recent US-Israeli aggression against Iran, Gen. Mousavi emphasized that the Iranian nation is not warmongering, but any further attacks would be met with an unprecedented response.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Israeli regime initiated an unprovoked attack on Iran on June 13, resulting in the deaths of at least 1,064 people, including senior military commanders and nuclear scientists. The US officially entered the conflict on June 22, targeting three Iranian nuclear facilities before declaring a ceasefire on behalf of Israel two days later.
In retaliation, the Iranian Armed Forces launched ballistic missiles at military and strategic targets deep within the Israeli-occupied territories and a major US airbase in Qatar. Gen. Mousavi also issued a warning to American leaders regarding their continued support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, questioning whether they are willing to risk their country’s future for Netanyahu’s sake.
The general further expressed that the Iranian people will not forget the harm caused by America’s actions, labeling those martyred in the Israeli attacks as foundational to Iran’s security. He acknowledged the pain of their loss but recognized it as a catalyst for a new era of national strength and unity.
