Baghdad: Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, arrived in Baghdad on Monday for his first official visit since taking office on August 5, 2025. He was officially welcomed by Iraq’s National Security Advisor, Qasim al-Araji, at Baghdad International Airport.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, following the official reception, Larijani paid his respects to the memory of the martyrs, Iran’s former commander of the IRGC Quds Force Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani and Iraq’s former chief of staff of the Popular Mobilization Forces Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, honoring their contributions and legacy. This visit marks the beginning of Larijani’s diplomatic mission, which will also include a subsequent trip to Lebanon.
