Iran’s Security Official Commends Appointment of Senior Military Commanders

Tehran: Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei has praised the appointment of six senior commanders to key positions in the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), saying the move would strengthen the country's defense capabilities.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Rezaei conveyed his commendation in a message to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, highlighting the appointments as a strategic decision that disrupted the calculations of Iran's adversaries, particularly the rulers of the US and Israel.

In his congratulatory message to the newly appointed commanders, Rezaei expressed confidence that the armed forces would persist in their mission to defend Iran's security and sovereignty. He pledged that these forces would spare no effort in countering any aggression against the country.

Last week, Ayatollah Khamenei issued separate decrees appointing senior military commanders, including the new Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, the IRGC chief commander and their deputies, as well as the commander of the IRGC Navy and the head of the Basij Organization.
