Iran’s Top General Visits Pakistan to Strengthen Military Ties

Islamabad: Iran's Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, has embarked on an official visit to Pakistan, signaling a potential strengthening of military and security relations between the two countries. As he arrived in Islamabad, Major General Bagheri emphasized the upward trajectory of these relations, highlighting their importance in the sensitive regions of West and South Asia.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Major General Bagheri is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of the country's Army Chief, General Asim Munir. The two-day trip will include meetings with senior Pakistani military officials, the president, prime minister, and minister of defense. The discussions aim to expand defense and military cooperation, enhance border security, combat terrorism, and address recent regional developments.

General Bagheri pointed out the significance of the long border shared by Iran and Pakistan. He stated that both nations are committed to resolving security issues and transforming their border regions into areas of broad economic connections, which could further enhance their bilateral ties.
