Brasilia: Iranian athlete Zahra Kiani claimed a historic gold medal at the 17th Wushu World Championships in Brasilia on Saturday, marking the country’s first-ever women’s gold in the individual Taolu category. Competing in the morning session of the Changquan form, Kiani delivered a standout performance against 27 rivals to take the top spot on the podium.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Kiani’s victory raised Iran’s medal tally at the championships to two golds and one bronze so far.
