Tehran: The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Talabani, has met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi at the foreign ministry in Tehran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Talabani arrived in Tehran on Tuesday at Araghchi's invitation for consultations with senior Iranian officials on cooperation in economic fields and border security.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei stated earlier that the visit was part of Iran's ongoing dialogue with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region aimed at expanding bilateral ties and supporting regional stability. He added that the leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan will hold talks and exchange views with senior Iranian officials on matters of mutual interest, including issues related to economic cooperation and border security.
