Tehran: Iraqi President Nizar Amidi arrived in Tehran on Friday to take part in the ceremony paying tribute to the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The tribute ceremony is being held at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Mosalla, where foreign dignitaries, religious figures, and political representatives have gathered to pay their respects to the late leader.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the event has drawn participants from nearly 100 countries, including official delegations, public figures, and civil society representatives. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said the ceremony is expected to be attended by eight heads of state and 12 parliamentary speakers.

Religious leaders from Russia, India, China, Turkiye, Iraq, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, and Bangladesh also took part in the ceremony. A delegation from Lebanon's Amal Movement, representatives of resistance groups from Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Morocco, and Turkiye, as well as members of Afghanistan's fighters and Shia leaders from Pakistan, were among those present.

Ahmad Massoud, son of the late Afghan military leader Ahmad Shah Massoud, religious scholars from Indonesia and Afghanistan, cultural activists from Spain, Ecuador, and Bolivia, and representatives of Bulgaria's parliament and Republican Party also attended the ceremony.
