Khuzestan: A senior official of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) has emphasized that the large attendance of Iraqis at the funeral ceremonies for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, showcased their profound affection and demonstrated the unity among Shia Muslims and the broader Islamic world. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Sheikh Adnan Al-Ghanami, head of the Al-Rushd Office of Iraq's PMF, expressed these sentiments on Friday during a significant Arbaeen gathering at the Chazabeh border crossing in Iran's southwestern Khuzestan Province. Al-Ghanami noted that the Iraqi people, and particularly PMF fighters, have long held deep admiration for Iran's martyred Leader, considering him not only a revolutionary figure but also an emblem of resistance against oppression for oppressed communities, including Iraq. He highlighted that the participation of thousands of Iraqis in the funeral ceremonies held in the revered cities of Najaf and Karbala signifie d a renewed dedication to the ideals of the martyred Leader and underscored the lasting connection between the Iranian and Iraqi nations. Al-Ghanami also referred to this year's Arbaeen pilgrimage as the world's largest gathering of Muslims and Shia believers, emphasizing that it symbolizes unity, solidarity, and brotherhood that transcends national, ethnic, and linguistic boundaries. He reiterated Iraq's commitment to welcoming millions of pilgrims from around the globe, offering services grounded in the values of Ashura and devotion to the infallible households of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). According to Iranian officials, more than 1.3 million Arbaeen pilgrims have already crossed through the Shalamcheh and Chazabeh border crossings in Khuzestan Province.
