Tehran: Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Chief Commander Major General Hossein Salami has firmly denied U.S. allegations regarding Iranian involvement in Yemen's internal decision-making processes. During a speech on Sunday, Major General Salami emphasized that Yemen is an autonomous nation capable of shaping its own national policies.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Salami's remarks were in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's prior statement, where he accused Iran of supporting Ansarullah in Yemen and warned of consequences. Trump had asserted, "America will hold you fully accountable, and we won't be nice about it!"
Salami countered these accusations by stating that Iran takes full responsibility for its actions, declaring, "We publicly announce responsibility for any military operation or support we provide." He cited previous operations, such as Operation True Promise, where Iran openly claimed responsibility for its military actions against the Israeli regime during the Gaza conflict.
Furthermore, General Salami highlighted that threats and military confrontations have historically led to defeats for Iran's adversaries, particularly the United States. He warned that any threats against the Islamic Republic would be met with a stronger response. "Wars have consistently brought disgraceful military defeats for Global Arrogance and the United States, yet they have still not learned their lesson," he remarked. "We warn all enemies that we will confront any threat and will respond even more forcefully."
