Doha:Strait of Hormuz The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has reported the interception and destruction of a US MQ-9 drone over the Strait of Hormuz. This incident marks another occurrence in a series of drone downings in this strategically significant area.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the IRGC stated that the US military's MQ-9 drone was targeted and taken down using the advanced defense systems of its Aerospace Force. This action took place in the early hours of Tuesday.

The Iranian Armed Forces have been actively engaged in activities against foreign drones, having destroyed multiple spy and combat drones and other hostile aircraft since February 28. This engagement follows the onset of what Iran describes as a war of aggression initiated by the US and the Israeli regime, actions that Iran claims are in violation of the UN Charter and international law.
