Tehran: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has announced that several US troops were killed in a strike targeting a compound that houses American military personnel in the Rukban area of Jordan.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the IRGC stated on Tuesday that the strike was executed by its Aerospace Force as part of an ongoing operation responding to what it describes as the United States' persistent aggression towards Iran. The IRGC's statement reported multiple casualties among US military personnel as a result of the attack.

The statement also highlighted a discrepancy in casualty figures, noting that the US war secretary referred to the fallen troops as 'heroes' but allegedly downplayed the actual number of casualties. The IRGC criticized this portrayal, questioning the heroism attributed to soldiers who, according to their statement, use advanced weaponry against innocents. The IRGC further expressed its belief that people across the globe would ultimately hold these individuals accountable for their actions, denouncing them as war criminals.
