Tehran: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Thursday strongly rejected claims by US President Donald Trump that Iranian officials had reached out to him seeking a halt to US bombings. In a statement, the IRGC public relations office stated that Trump's claim about contact with Iranian officials is strongly rejected and described it as a cover for fleeing the conflict.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the IRGC's statement did not elaborate further on the matter. Trump had asserted in remarks that officials of the Islamic Republic asked him to stop the bombardments. However, no evidence was provided for the claims, and the IRGC's rejection was categorical.
