Tehran: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has reported that two oil tankers were immobilized following an explosion as they attempted to navigate through a perilous route south of the Strait of Hormuz. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the IRGC issued a statement revealing that the vessels were misled by what it referred to as 'the child-killing US terrorist army' to take an unsafe path, resulting in the explosion. Rescue units have been dispatched to evacuate the crews from the area. In its address to the Iranian nation, the IRGC emphasized the vigilance of its Navy sailors in maintaining control over the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime passage off Iran's southern coast. The IRGC reiterated its caution to shipping companies, urging them to be wary of misleading information from the US military and to avoid hazardous routes connecting the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman. The Iranian Armed Forces have consistently stated that the transit of oil, gas, or fertilizer through the Strai t of Hormuz is compromised by the continued US activities, which they describe as illegal and aggressive, leading to instability in the region.
