Baghdad: The chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force has asserted that the unprecedented funeral procession for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in Iraq will fortify the unity between the Iranian and Iraqi nations against US initiatives, aiming to seek vengeance on adversaries.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Brigadier General Esmail Qa'ani conveyed in a message that the Iraqi people's and government's request to conduct the funeral, coupled with comprehensive preparations for this historic event, highlights the profound spiritual connection between the nations of Iraq and Iran on a global stage.

Qa'ani emphasized that the late Leader's unwavering support for the Iraqi populace, alongside the influence of the country's religious authority, was instrumental in enabling Martyr Qassem Soleimani to combat Daesh and American forces alongside Iraq's committed youth. He further stated that 'Trump the criminal' was ultimately responsible for the assassination of 'the hero of the two nations' along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

'The unprecedented funeral of our martyred Imam in Iraq, akin to the grand funerals of Martyrs Soleimani and Abu Mahdi, will enhance the resolve of both nations against American seditions and accentuate the red line of vengeance,' he declared.

Ayatollah Khamenei was assassinated in US-Israeli terror attacks on February 28, during a war of aggression launched by the two regimes against Iran amidst ongoing Tehran-Washington negotiations aimed at resolving unresolved issues.
