Israeli Official Warns of Potential Flight Disruptions Due to US Aircraft at Ben Gurion Airport

Tehran: An Israeli official has warned that the arrival of additional US refueling aircraft at Ben Gurion Airport will lead to flight cancellations and delays. If Ben Gurion Airport is forced to accept more US refueling aircraft, it will not be able to handle all scheduled flights, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority quoted Israel Airports Authority Director General Sharon Kedmi as saying.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Kedmi emphasized the challenges faced by the airport in accommodating these aircraft. "We are doing everything to avoid canceling flights," Kedmi stated. "There are American refuelers here and in other places. We are in contact with the Air Force, and everyone is doing their job."

Kedmi highlighted that Ben Gurion Airport has reached its maximum operational capacity and cannot accommodate even one more refueling aircraft. Earlier on Monday, Israel's Channel 12 reported that 33 US refueling aircraft had been stationed at Ben Gurion Airport amid concerns that Washington might deploy even more aircraft to the facility.

It is predicted that the arrival of seven additional aircraft, bringing the total to 40, would result in the cancellation of approximately 30 daily flights, equivalent to about 5,000 tickets, starting in early August.
