Israeli Strike on Tehran TV Headquarters Signals Growing Desperation: Araqchi

Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has stated that the recent Israeli strike on the television headquarters in Tehran is indicative of the increasing desperation of the Israeli regime. Araqchi expressed his views during a phone call on a TV program late Tuesday, emphasizing that the attack reflects the extreme cowardice of the Israeli regime.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araqchi criticized Israel’s tactics, suggesting that when Israel fails to achieve success on the battlefield, it resorts to targeting civilian institutions that simply report the truth. He argued that Israel’s strategy of assassinating Iranian commanders and attacking key sites was intended to weaken the Islamic Republic to the point of surrender.

Araqchi further commented that Israel misjudges the resilience of the Iranian people. He highlighted Iran’s history of enduring the eight-year Iraqi invasion, known as the Sacred Defense, and its capability to withstand sanctions and external pressures. He warned Iran’s adversaries that coercion would not enable them to achieve their objectives.

The Israeli regime initiated strikes within Iranian territory, targeting residential buildings in an unprovoked act of aggression on June 13. These attacks resulted in the assassination of top Iranian military officials and civilian casualties due to direct strikes on homes. In response, Iran launched counter-strikes deep within Israel, targeting cities such as Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa with ballistic missiles and drones, forcing Israelis to take refuge in bomb shelters for extended periods.

Since then, Iran has continued to launch waves of strikes against Israeli targets. Despite stringent Israeli censorship, footage has emerged showing Iranian missiles accurately hitting their targets. Iranian officials have declared that their military missions will persist for as long as deemed necessary.
