Amman: Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed on Monday with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who is currently visiting Jordan, regional developments, the repercussions of the dangerous escalation in the region, and efforts to restore calm and establish lasting security and stability.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Safadi and Guterres emphasized the importance of adhering to the ceasefire between the United States and Iran. They highlighted the need to resume negotiations to reach a comprehensive solution that addresses all causes of tension and ensures freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law.

Furthermore, the discussions extended to exploring ways to enhance cooperation between Jordan and the United Nations and its organizations. Both parties underscored the significance of collaborative efforts to achieve mutual goals and maintain peace in the region.
