Ardabil: Deputy Parliament Speaker Ali Nikzad has commended journalists and media professionals for their contributions during the recent 12-day Israeli-imposed war on Iran. Speaking on the occasion of National Journalists’ Day during a visit to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) office in Ardabil on Saturday, Nikzad praised journalists for reflecting the realities and exposing the depth of the enemy’s crimes. He noted that media personnel were ‘practically present on the war front.’
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Nikzad congratulated journalists for demonstrating Iran’s legitimacy and described their role as ‘desirable,’ emphasizing their special place within the Iranian cultural system. He stated, ‘Apart from defending truth, dignity, and honor, as well as reflecting the realities of society, media personnel must be the voice of the voiceless,’ highlighting the importance of their contributions.
Nikzad lauded the media’s performance during the recent war, stating that Iranian news media showed the world the nation’s pursuit of truth, even as the enemies refused to acknowledge or reflect the reality. He specifically praised IRNA for its effectiveness in delivering accurate information on both domestic and international issues.
Providing services to the people is the responsibility of the executive branch and the administration, Nikzad noted, adding that IRNA bears the heavy responsibility of building trust across all departments and institutions of the country. He expressed hope that the news agency would continue to uphold its professionalism through impartial reporting and highlight shortcomings to help the administration and officials address and correct them.
