The judging committee for the final round of the 44th King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting, and Interpreting the Holy Quran, organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, heard the recitations of 26 participants on the fourth day, with 13 in the morning session and 13 in the evening session. The contestants are participating in the five categories of the competition, held at the Grand Mosque of Makkah. So far, the committee has heard the recitation of 84 participants from various countries around the world. The judging committee today listened today to the recitation of contestants from Iran, Guinea, Germany, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Morocco, Réunion, Syria, Côte d'Ivoire, Bangladesh, India, Kuwait, Sweden, Sudan, Ethiopia, Oman, Pakistan, Myanmar, Benin, Nepal, Kyrgyzstan, New Zealand, and Guyana. The competition sessions will resume tomorrow for the fifth day. The final round of the competition -- which began last Saturday under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and was inaugurated by Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh -- is being held at the Grand Mosque of Makkah with the participation of 174 contestants representing 123 countries worldwide and a total prize value of SAR 4,000,000.
