King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, represented by its strategic partner, the Saudi Global Ports (SGP) company, which operates the port's container terminals, received 15 rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes. These cranes arrived on two ships, reflecting the increasing efforts made by the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) to develop the port's infrastructure. This aligns with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy to establish the Kingdom's position as a global logistics hub and a central point connecting three continents. This development is part of ongoing plans to transform King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam into a sustainable, globally competitive center under the commercial concession contracts signed by Mawani with SGP, with an investment value of SR7 billion. These efforts contribute to enhancing operational efficiency and increasing handling capacity. Modern cranes support the Kingdom's port system, reinforce the Kingdom's growing role in the global logistics services chain, and enhance th e capabilities of King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. The port boasts leading operational and logistical characteristics, with 43 fully serviced and equipped berths and a handling capacity of up to 105 million tons of goods and containers. Additionally, the port features several specialized stations, advanced equipment, and modern tools that enable it to handle various types of cargo.
