King Faisal Mosque, a towering landmark in Islamabad, is one of the world's largest and most iconic mosques. Its immense size and unique architecture have made it a symbol of the enduring friendship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Following a visit by King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1966, an international design competition was launched. Turkish architect Vedat Dalokay's won, and the mosque was completed in 1988 with Saudi funding. Accommodating over 250,000 worshippers, it serves as a spiritual and cultural hub for the community.
