King Salman International Airport Development Company (KSIADC) announced in a press release that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ewpartners, an international private equity firm recognized for its strategic alliances and cross-border investment initiatives, to explore the establishment of an e-commerce and logistics special economic zone within King Salman International Airport (KSIA). According to the release, this collaboration seeks to enhance growth and operational excellence in logistics, leveraging Saudi Arabia's position as a global logistics hub linking three continents. The economic zone is one of several recently announced by the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services to strengthen supply chains and streamline trade and investment, aligning with the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The special economic zone at KSIA aims to improve logistical connections between China and Saudi Arabia, contributing to Saudi Arabia's transition as a pivotal hub for air cargo movement in the region . The zone will significantly bolster regional and global distribution capabilities, reinforcing the airport as a global logistics hub and highlighting Saudi Arabia's strategic role in international logistics.
