The 51st General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) started today in Kuwait City.Emirates News Agency (WAM) Acting Director General and FANA President Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi thanked the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), and KUNA Director General and FANA Vice President Dr. Fatma Al-Salem for the warm reception and arrangements, and wished Kuwait continued progress and prosperity under the leadership of His Highness Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.Speaking on the occasion, Al Kaabi said: "FANA has made significant strides in collaborative efforts, fostering cooperation among Arab news agencies and bolstering their standing. We are eager to continue advancing, especially given the challenges confronting the region and the Arab world, the fierce competition among media entities, the swift evolution of the media landscape, and the profound revolution in communication technology and information dissemination."Meeting discussions focused on key challenges confronting Arab news agencies within the global context. In her address, Al Salem expressed hope that the conference outcome will benefit Arab news agencies, particularly under the current regional circumstances.FANA Secretary-General Dr. Farid Ayar welcomed the federation members, including WAM's Acting Director General Al Kaabi and the recently joined Acting President of the Saudi Press Agency Ali bin Abdullah Al-Zaid, and conveyed his appreciation to the State of Kuwait for hosting the 51st session of the conference, highlighting the numerous regional and global achievements of the federation, particularly in training Arab media professionals and spearheading media initiatives in the Arab world.Later, a closed working session was held to address the conference agendaSource: Saudi Press Agency
