Tehran: Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani has emphasized the necessity for Tehran and Baghdad to make their cooperation more concrete, highlighting the significance of robust ties in the current dynamic regional environment. Larijani shared these views during a meeting in Tehran with Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, leader of Iraq’s National Wisdom Movement, where they addressed regional issues and bilateral relations.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Larijani described Iraq as a friendly, strong, and like-minded country, underscoring the strategic importance of their cooperation. He stressed that in the face of present circumstances, the partnership between the two nations must become more tangible.
Al-Hakim acknowledged Iran’s resilience against Israeli aggression, noting that Israel’s recent war against the Islamic Republic, contrary to Tel Aviv’s expectations, has only bolstered Iran’s position in the region. He further commented on the regional Muslim acknowledgment of Iran’s influential role, pointing out that Israel’s antagonistic actions and its ‘Greater Israel’ agenda have corroborated Iran’s long-standing depiction of the regime as a ‘cancerous tumor.’
