Tehran: Ali Larijani, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has declared Tehran's readiness for fair nuclear discussions aimed at resolving concerns. Larijani emphasized the increased preparedness of Iran during an interview with Al Jazeera, conveying the country's positive outlook on negotiations, provided they remain fair and focused solely on nuclear issues without external impositions.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Larijani refuted any claims of Iran providing a written response to the United States' demands, highlighting that ongoing exchanges of views are in progress. He noted regional countries' support for a political resolution to the nuclear issue, stating that Iran is open to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) monitoring under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). He argued against the unrealistic expectation for Iran to cease its nuclear technology, underscoring the necessity for enriched uranium in peaceful applications like cancer treatment.
Larijani clarified that Iran's negotiations are strictly with the United States, excluding any talks with Israel. He criticized Israel's regional destabilization strategy, citing its September attack on the Qatari capital that targeted Hamas officials, and warned regional leaders of Israel's broader agenda. He also emphasized that Iran's missile program is a separate, domestic matter linked to national security and not subject to these negotiations.
Regarding regional allies, Larijani announced that Lebanon's Hezbollah has regained its capabilities to confront Israel, underscoring the unpredictable nature of war despite attacks. He condemned Israel's actions in Gaza, accusing it of destruction and atrocities but noted the resilience of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). Larijani expressed Iran's readiness for any scenario, noting that history has not favored those who initiate conflict escalation.
Larijani praised Qatar's mediating efforts, highlighting shared goals to prevent regional tension escalation through exchanges with Qatari officials. He also emphasized Iran's strategic cooperation with China and Russia, stating their support in the United Nations Security Council is based on mutual interests. Lastly, he accused the United States and Israel of engaging in recent adventurism within Iran.
