Tehran: The latest US missile and air attacks have targeted several locations across Iran, including areas in the southern, western, and central provinces, leaving at least two people dead and 11 others injured, according to local officials.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in Khuzestan Province, southwest Iran, two people were killed and 11 others injured early Thursday after missiles struck the area around the passenger terminal at the Shalamcheh border crossing, as per the province's deputy governor for security and law enforcement affairs.
Missile attacks also targeted an area near the city of Andimeshk, as well as two locations around the cities of Ahvaz and Ramshir. Valiollah Hayati, deputy governor of Khuzestan, mentioned that one of the targets near Ramshir was an asphalt storage warehouse.
In the central province of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, an area in Kiar County came under an air attack in the early hours of Thursday. Abdolali Arzhang, the province's deputy governor for political, security, and social affairs, stated there were no casualties, adding that relevant authorities were assessing the incident and possible damage.
In the southern Hormuzgan Province, two maritime search-and-rescue vessels were hit in a US attack, sustaining serious damage.
Meanwhile, agricultural equipment belonging to farmers in Dashti County, Bushehr Province, was hit by US missiles in two separate attacks. Ehsan Jahanian, the province's deputy governor for political and security affairs, noted that the county had come under missile attacks on three occasions on Thursday, with no casualties reported. The extent of the damage was still being assessed.
Several areas of Bushehr city were also targeted in two separate missile attacks earlier in the day, with no fatalities reported.
In Sistan and Baluchestan Province, in the southeast, two projectiles struck an area in the city of Konarak. There were no immediate reports of possible damage and casualties.
In the west, in Kermanshah Province, a projectile hit near the city of Eslamabad-e Gharb early Thursday. No casualties were caused.
