London: The Metropolitan Police in London has imposed new restrictions on gatherings by anti-Iran groups, aiming to prevent criminal cases.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, these restrictions include a ban on using audio systems, loudspeakers, and megaphones, as well as limiting the duration of gatherings. The Metropolitan Police, in official statements, announced that gatherings against the Iranian government must end by a specific time, and the use of any sound amplification equipment, including loudspeakers and other audio devices, is strictly prohibited.
This issue has angered opposition groups, who have accused British officials of aligning with Tehran. Meanwhile, official statistics from the London police indicate that 14 dissidents have been arrested in front of Iran's embassy, and one person has been detained on charges of attacking an Islamic center in the UK.
The Islamic Human Rights Commission (IHRC) recently, in an official letter, requested that Secretary of State for the Home Department Shabana Mahmood, issue direct orders to the police to implement necessary legal measures to protect individuals and social institutions targeted by attacks. The body stressed that individuals who appear in the streets under the title of anti-Iranian government protests have caused insecurity within society.
The London police have intensified security measures by increasing patrols and deploying rapid response units; an action that has imposed additional costs on security agencies and sparked reactions among the country's taxpayers.
