Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has met on Sunday 18/8/2024 with Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the UAE, to discuss ways to enhance aspects and areas of joint cooperation between Egypt and UAE in various sectors. The Prime Minister indicated at the beginning of the meeting that work teams from both countries have focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, especially in industry, energy, electricity, and investment. Madbouly stated that the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and the colleagues from the relevant ministeries supervised the meetings that were held in this regard, and followed up on this with their counterparts from the Emirati side. The Prime Minister touched on the results of the visit made recently by Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to Egypt, and his meeting with Egyptian President Abdelfattah El-Sisi. Madbouly pointed out that these results included an emphasis on the importance of working to quickly activate the joint pro jects that have been agreed upon. For his part, Al Jaber highlighted the special attention that Al Nahyan gives to sister Egypt, saying: 'Today we are here to follow up on what was discussed and reviewed during the previous meeting, and to determine the next steps for the executive agenda during the coming period.' Al Jaber pointed out that the industrial agenda is very important, and the allocation of land for the Egyptian-Emirati industry is very important, adding: 'We currently have two important projects, the first: a project to manufacture solar panels, and the second: a batteries project to store renewable energy.' Additionally, Al Jaber stated: 'We have partnerships with major manufacturers, and we are ready to study any other projects with the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development to serve Egypt's industry strategy.' Regarding the energy sector, Al Jaber added that there are directives from the political leadership to complete 4 gigawatts within one year, reiterating commitments to achi eve that as well as develop a number of gas projects.
