Tehran: Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, a senior politician and current Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, has paid tribute to the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, recognizing him as a cultured and visionary figure respected throughout the region.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Berdimuhamedow made these remarks during a meeting with President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran. Berdimuhamedow, along with a delegation, traveled to Tehran to attend the funeral ceremony of Ayatollah Khamenei. He emphasized the esteemed place the martyred leader holds in the hearts of the people of Turkmenistan, expressing hope that Iran will navigate these challenging times with patience and resilience, and that peace will soon return to the region.

President Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for the condolences extended by Turkmenistan's delegation and acknowledged the solidarity shown by the government and people of Turkmenistan in the wake of the US-Israeli-imposed war. Highlighting the strong ties between Iran and Turkmenistan, Pezeshkian noted that the relationship serves as a model for constructive neighborly relations based on mutual trust and respect.

Furthermore, Pezeshkian condemned the recent acts of aggression by the United States and Israel, appreciating Turkmenistan's supportive stance since the beginning of the conflict. The war resulted in the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei, along with several commanders, officials, elites, and civilians.
