Tehran: The secretary-general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hamid Shahryari, has emphasized that the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, viewed unity among the Islamic community as a fundamental strategy to counteract the domination and divisiveness posed by enemies. Shahryari made these comments during the farewell ceremony for the martyred Leader, highlighting the importance of maintaining solidarity within the Islamic community.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Shahryari expressed that it is crucial for scholars, thinkers, and elites within the Islamic world to uphold the unity promoted by the martyred Leader. He stressed the necessity of overcoming sectarian and ethnic differences to pursue the collective goals of liberating Holy Quds and supporting oppressed peoples. Shahryari noted that the sacrifices made by those who have died in the path of resistance would only serve to fortify the resolve of the Resistance Front, which continues to draw inspiration from this ideology.
Shahryari further stated that the Iranian people, along with the broader Islamic community, would persist in their steadfastness and unity until achieving dignity, justice, and ultimate victory. He also remarked on the global impact of the farewell ceremonies, describing them as a message that transcends domestic boundaries.
He pointed out that the international media coverage underscored the martyred Leader's influence as an inspiration to Muslims and free thinkers worldwide, cutting across geographical borders. Shahryari highlighted that millions perceived the farewell as a testament to the community's loyalty to a leader who dedicated his life to the dignity of Islam, the defense of the oppressed, support for the Palestinian cause, and the promotion of Islamic unity.
Ayatollah Khamenei and several of his family members were martyred on February 28 in a joint terrorist attack by the Zionist regime and the United States, coinciding with critical negotiations between Tehran and Washington. The farewell, funeral procession, and burial ceremonies commenced on Saturday and are scheduled to continue until July 9.
The funeral procession in Tehran is planned for Monday, July 6, followed by a procession in Qom on Tuesday, July 7. Ceremonies in Najaf and Karbala are set for Wednesday, July 8, culminating with the funeral procession in Mashhad and burial at the shrine of Imam Reza (AS) on Thursday, July 9.
