Riyadh, The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) and AlJeri Logistic Service Company today signed two agreements to establish new logistics zones at Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, for a total investment of SAR160 million. The agreements were signed by Mawani President Omar Hariri and AlJeri Investment Vice Chairman Khaled Al Qahtani. Several other key officials attended the signing ceremony. According to a Mawani press release, the new logistics zones, which cover a combined area of 150,000 square meters, are expected to enhance port efficiency, facilitate trade, and strengthen supply chains. This development aligns with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy's goal of positioning Saudi Arabia as a global logistics hub. Mawani stated that this strategic partnership capitalizes on AlJeri's 35 years of experience in the crucial sector, and that it aims to enhance the logistics services at the Kingdom's ports, streamline stakeholder requirements, and bolster commercial activities wit h strong operational capabilities. The announcement follows a series of agreements signed by Mawani this year to develop over 600,000 square meters of logistics space at Jeddah Islamic Port, for a total investment of SAR675 million. Moreover, a 100,000-square-meter logistics zone is under development at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
