Today marked the conclusion of the third annual Arab gifted students' participation in the 2024 summer enrichment programs, organized by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba). The event was attended by Mawhiba chairman of the board of directors Suleiman Al-Zaben, Mawhiba secretary-general Dr. Amal Al-Hazzaa, Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Saad Al-Harbi, and Arab diplomatic corps members accredited to the Kingdom. The number of students participating in Mawhiba programs this year reached 431 male and female students from 16 Arab countries: Jordan, UAE, Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, and Yemen. The participating students received intensive scientific and enrichment materials in engineering; medical, biological, and chemical sciences; physics, earth, and space sciences; computer science; and applied mathematics. The programs were conducted by local and international expe rts in the field of gifted education, providing the students with numerous scientific and knowledge skills and a range of advanced experiences to develop their personal abilities. The initiative launched by Mawhiba, in partnership with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), focuses on investing in the young talents of gifted and creative Arab individuals. It aims to nurture and accommodate Arab gifted and creative individuals, provide them with a suitable environment, benefit from their unique abilities, and enable them to lead change and shape the future. The Mawhiba secretary-general emphasized that this unique initiative supports long-term visions for discovering and nurturing gifted individuals in the Arab world.
