Muscat Talks Were a ‘Good Start’: Foreign Minister Araghchi

Muscat: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has described the indirect talks between Iran and the United States in Muscat as a 'good start', noting that both sides intend to continue the talks. 'I think there was a good atmosphere and in one sentence I can say that it was a good start,' Araghchi told reporters after the end of the talks in the Omani capital on Friday.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi mentioned that both sides agreed the talks need to be continued, though the time and manner of the next round of talks are yet to be decided. 'Our concerns were conveyed, and our interests, the rights that the Iranian people have, and all the things that needed to be said were conveyed in a very good atmosphere,' he said. He further added that 'the views of the other side were also heard'.

Araghchi expressed hope to reach an agreed framework for the talks in the next meetings, indicating a willingness from both sides to address ongoing issues.
