Tehran: The National Botanical Garden of Iran, situated along the Tehran-Karaj highway, spans an area of approximately 150 hectares. It is recognized as the largest botanical park in the Middle East and ranks among the ten largest globally.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the garden was established with the objective of creating a collection of both native and non-native plants housed in open spaces and greenhouses. This initiative serves as a genetic reserve for plant species that are endangered.
