London: The Iranian Embassy in London has written that the attack on a wedding ceremony in Iran's Kuhestak is the most recent item on the long list of deadly attacks by the US and its allies on weddings in Iraq, Yemen, and Afghanistan, saying that if one wishes to turn a wedding into a funeral, they should 'leave it to the US terrorist military.'

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in a post on its X account on Thursday, the embassy said that the recent US military attack on a wedding ceremony in the city of Kuhestak in Sirik, Hormozgan Province, was part of a long history of deadly attacks by US forces and their allies on wedding ceremonies in various countries.

The embassy said, 'If you want to turn a wedding into a funeral, leave it to the US terrorist military. They have a long track record of doing exactly that.'

The statement listed several incidents, beginning with the July 1, 2002 bombing in Kakarak village, Uruzgan Province, Afghanistan, where more than 100 people were killed. It continued with the September 18, 2003 bombing in Fallujah, Iraq, resulting in over 5 casualties, and the May 19, 2004 bombing in Bakar al-Dhib village, Anbar Province, Iraq, which killed 42 people.

Further incidents included the October 8, 2004 bombing in Fallujah, Iraq, killing 13 people including the groom, and the July 6, 2008 bombing in Deh Bala, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan, which claimed 47 lives including the bride. In November 2008, 37 people, including 23 children, were killed in a bombing in Wagh Baghtu, Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.

The list also highlighted the June 2012 bombing in Logar Province, Afghanistan, killing 18 people, including 9 children, and the September 28, 2015 bombing in Wahijah, Taiz, Yemen, by a US-backed coalition, resulting in the death of 131 women and children. The most recent incident cited was the September 1, 2026 bombing in Kuhestak, Sirik, Hormozgan Province, Iran, which resulted in 70 casualties.

The embassy further emphasized the need to 'Stop war crimes, prosecute war criminals.'
