New Ambassador of Iran to Nigeria Meets with Araqchi Before Departure


Tehran: Gholamreza Mahdavi Raja, the new Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Nigeria, met with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, before leaving for the mission. During the meeting, while wishing success to our country’s new ambassador in Abuja, Araghchi emphasized the importance and position of Africa in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the necessity of efforts to strengthen Iran-Nigeria relations in all fields, especially economic and trade.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, before being appointed as the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Nigeria, Mahdavi Raja served in the positions of Assistant Director General of Construction and Support, Head of the Third Department of Public Diplomacy in the Spokesperson’s Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Political Counselor of our country’s Embassies in Paris and Rome, and Head of the Iranian Embassy in Prague.
