Tehran: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has stressed that while European countries have naturally made efforts to mediate, no new mediator has emerged in developments related to Iran-US talks. In his weekly press briefing on Monday, Baqaei emphasized that Pakistan remains the mediator on matters between Iran and the United States, with Qatar also contributing efforts.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei noted that although certain European countries have, in their contacts with Iran, expressed views and shown readiness to offer their good offices, this is entirely natural and does not mean that a new mediator has appeared in developments concerning Iran-US relations.
The issue between Iran and the United States is not a matter of mediation, he stated, adding that the problem lies in Washington's approach, its miscalculations, and its insistence on methods and policies whose failure has been experienced repeatedly.
He further explained that the US ruling body continues to test the same paths, stressing that such an approach certainly leads to the same results as before.
