Washington: The US military stated that Iran's claim regarding two mines hitting a supertanker in the Strait of Hormuz is untrue. "No ships have hit mines in the Strait of Hormuz," US Central Command announced on X.

According to Deutsche Welle, the statement from US Central Command included, "This is yet another IRGC attempt to intimidate regional commercial shipping through disinformation," referring to Iran's Revolutionary Guards. The initial claim was made by Iranian state TV, which cited a statement from the Revolutionary Guards.

Earlier, the US military reported that strikes on Iran's Larak Island were aimed at IRGC minelaying forces to prevent further mining activities in the strait.
